Getting sporty with Beechwood Saab
Local dealership Beechwood Saab continues to offer significant support towards the development of sport across the region, by sponsoring a number of local sports associations for the 2009/10 season.
Beechwood Saab has maintained a long-standing relationship with the Derbyshire Premier Cricket League, whom they have sponsored since inception eleven years ago. The league plays an important role within Derbyshire's sporting culture and is one of only twenty five counties that have the English Cricket Board seal of approval for Premier status. The Derbyshire Premier Cricket League is the major league in the county of Derbyshire.
In addition, the dealership has further cemented its commitment to local sport by sponsoring the Derbyshire Amateur and Professional Golf Alliance, for the eighth year. It was founded in 1922 to provide a link between the amateur and professional game particularly as it affected the county golf clubs.
The Alliance seeks to embrace golfers of all ages who have a handicap of 18 or below and are members of a golf club in Derbyshire. As part of the sponsorship package the Alliance manage on behalf of the dealership the Derbyshire Order of Merit for professionals, the Beechwood Tournament of Champions for amateurs and a number of representative events.
Beechwood have also entered this year into the world of Tennis sponsorship, by becoming the main sponsor of the Derbyshire Tennis Centre. This involves sponsorship of various children's tournaments, and also supplying the head coach with a Saab 9-3 Vector Sportwagon.
